Get More Backlinks By Sharing Your Posts

by Carl

Another nice backlink method that does not cost a dime – and really takes just a few minutes to set up – is Jon Ledger’s ShareAPost.com site.

Sharing Is Good... The site features posts from blogs covering all categories – and these authors have authorized others to use or syndicate their content.  You can’t change the wording or content of the original posts, and must include all links as the original author intended.  This is great news for those who contribute content – you can get your links, author bio published on other blogs – and that means more backlinks for you.

The ShareAPost service is automated, so contributing posts or incorporating posts into your blog is a snap.  I began offering my blog posts as content, and to date several bloggers have incorporated my content, providing me with valuable backlinks.

Take a few minutes and set up a ShareAPost account – it’s free and if you are posting useful content, you’ll be amazed at the backlinks and traffic.

Thanks for sharing this. Republished content may be really a great traffic booster. I write articles on regular basis so SharePost will be surely useful place for me.

Republished content and duplicate content can also have a negative effect on your site. Google and many of the major search engines will penalize you for this.

However, there is still some value in this if done correctly.

Newfoundland, I respectfully disagree. This duplicate content thing is nonsense, in my opinion. Carl

I just signed up at Share A Post, per your recommendation. Seems like a great idea, and hopefully more people will start to hear about it, sign up, and share posts.

Also, I tend to agree with you, Carl, on the duplicate content thing. While there may be a very small penalty, I’d take the risk to score some extra backlinks.

Carl July 22, 2008 at 4:19 pm

Thanks, Eric – duplicate content links STILL count – the text they reside in just doesn’t always show up in the SERPS, but who cares? Backlinks are the name of the game now. Your pages will rank better with more backlinks, period.

I will post in this program from old content deep in my site. If my serps drop I will come back and report

I appreciate the headsup on this service- Jon seems to know what he’s talking about. Still…I worry over the duplicate content issue that really is a hot button whenever it’s mentioned! I use article marketing all the time and find that sometimes many hundreds of people are using my content. That’s cool and all but now I wonder if I’ve just been wasting my time since only the first link from the same content counts…supposedly.

I wish there was more concrete facts about this topic that we could all finally agree on.

Hmm, this is interesting.

I think you should only do this, if your article has already been indexed by google. If not then there is a possibility to receive the duplicate penalty. I have actually experienced the duplicate penalty, as I posted a article to my blog and 5 minutes later some copy cat copied my article and placed it on his site. So what happend was that his article got indexed by google after a few hours as he had a PR of 2 and my article never got indexed. It really innoyed me , so thats why i’m always a bit worried about the duplicate penalty.

Anyway this could be a good way to get some good back links.
