Create A WordPress Membership Pay Site
[E-Course]
POST UPDATE: As much as I hate to admit this, here is another, probably better solution for Membership Sites in Wordpress: WordPress WishList - I really like this plugin-Carl
Since you spend so much time working on traffic to your ‘flagship’ blog - it only makes sense that you should be able to offer both free and premium content on the same site. I do that here on my site - and I’m ready to show you how you can do it, too. All you need is a neat little program from iDevSpot called iSubscribe.
In this video post, I walk you through step by step how to set up your WordPress blog just like I have mine- with pages that require payment via PayPal and secure login. It’s a great way to offer information to your customers who want ‘instant gratificaiton’, or who are simply in a hurry to implement a solution.
I posted earlier about this topic, but have had numerous requests for more specifc instruction - so here is a detailed, step by step video for you (about 40 min).

Thank you for the info. I just purchased the script and then got to the section where isubscribe renders the form code. One concern I have is that with the Firefox Developer tools I can modify form data. So even though the price etc are in a hidden field, i can modify it to $0.00 and then submit the form and get the content for free. I see you utilized a different method that uses a 3rd party. I thought I would mention that for others though.
Hi JB, thanks for your purchase! Actually, the ipn script checks on the backend for the correct price -denies access if the price was forged.
Ahhhh, that makes sense, thanks. Have you worked with version 2? Some big changes but concerned about it relying on redirecting with javascript to secure a page. Was doing some testing and disabled it and was able to view the page.
[Looked at it, but have not used it in production- folder-level protection is really the best way to go if you have videos and/or downloads. V2 does support that, but it only allows 1 folder-level subscription per install - I was disappointed with that.-Carl]
do you know if the isubscribe does something like a pay per use or pay per download as well as the membership style? I want to be able to create something where users pay to view videos that I want to post on my wordpress blog.
[I think you would need something with folder-level protection, like aMember for that, although I’m getting ready to launch a new product that will create membership sites easily (non-wordpress- sorry). Stay tuned.
