(note: if you purchase Backlink Index Express AFTER March 22, 2009 the patch is not needed.)
I recently updated Backlink Index Express to better handle all of the various Web 2.0 properties on Ping.fm. I would also like to show you how to set up each of the supported web 2.0 sites for use with Backlink Index Express. If you are new to this program, Backlink Index Express is a powerful script that allows you to get your backlink pages indexed quickly in the search engines. – more.
To install this patch, simply go to the video training link page for Backlink Index Express, download the patch, unzip and replace your copy of indexexpress.php with the one in the zip file.
Each Web 2.0 site works a bit differently, and how and why that is so is out of my control. But I have done extensive testing, and found that 20 of the web sites on Ping.fm can be used with my script. WordPress.com and Blogger do work – but users report the blogs are quickly removed by the admins on those sites. So you are left with 18 sites. For each site, there is an optimal setting – you see this option when you are setting up the site in Ping.fm or when you go to the ‘settings’ menu:
You want to check ONE option for each site – here are the ones I have found work best:
Aim: Status
Bebo: Blog
Brightkite: Status
Facebook: Blog
Friendfeed: Microblog
Jaiku: Microblog
Linkedin: Status
Multiply: Blog
MyYearbook: blog
Plurk: Status
Posterious: Microblog
Streetmavens: Microblog
Tumblr: Blog
Twitter: Status
Typepad: Blog
Ning: Status
Vox: Blog
Xanga: Blog
Yourare: Microblog
These are the sites that are working as of today. Remember, check ONE option for each site.

I was having trouble posting to wordpress from ping.fm (using BIE).
I changed the settings to ‘microblog’ and unchecked ‘blog’ and WP is now working great as well.

This seems like a great add on for any blog. Can you explain a little more in detail exactly how using blacklink index express can benefit your site? I’d like to install it on my blog but am a little hesitant until I know more about how it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
