I also think that Twitter is good for developing content. Because you only have a limited number of characters per tweet, it really focuses your mind. You tend to make insightful, pithy points quite often. If you expand on these later, they can be the kernels of blog posts or even articles.

I agree that using Twitter properly can be a great way to promote your business.
One of the downsides, however, is that if you are not careful you can spend hours checking out who to follow and other people’s tweets. You do need to apply some time management principles.
You do also need to be respectful of other people and not spammy. Engage in some general conversation with others that is not related to your business.
I have found it a good way to get contacts who live locally, so a great way to promote a local business too!

Twitter helps in generating traffic there is no doubt. Especially if you do a great link bait post on your website and then ask one of the social media expert who has a large amount followers can definitely get traffic to your website and you might even get juicy links.

I am new to twitter but I have the basic understanding of the affairs. Honestly, as a twitter user I would refrain from using twitter for any other purpose than pure ‘social connectivity tool’. I’d also not aid people using it for anything else. So, with due respect to your suggestions, if there are more people like me out there, what are the chances of success of your strategy?

Very interesting post. I think that it can sometimes be difficult to get new people to read your posts on Twitter, as it seems mostly oriented towards communicating with people you already know. The points you make might help with this, but I don’t really see why you would use a Twitter search tool like Summize. You can search for keywords etc. anyway on Twitter.
